TODAY’S GUEST

In today’s episode, Eva and Olga welcome Sally Kettle, inspirational speaker, adventurer, event host, television presenter, and author of ‘Sally’s Odd at Sea.” She’s a Guinness World Record Breaker and has raised over £500,000 for charity.

She has made and broken many records, including being the first woman to row the Atlantic Ocean twice from East to West, and once with her mother!  Sallys’ determination proves that with focus, discipline, and determination, you can accomplish anything in life!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • Her experience in crossing the Atlantic not just once, but twice.
  • How her journey to the world of rowing started.
  • Stories about how she and her mom Sarah succeeded in rowing the Atlantic.
  • Her fight against epilepsy and how it affected her dreams.
  • Training for her competitions, and how to stay motivated.
  • All about the ShelterBox organization and how it helps disaster-struck locations.

RESOURCES

In this episode, Sally emphasized the importance of believing in yourself and not letting the people around you — whether it is your classmates, family, or so-called friends, tell you that you can’t accomplish your goals. This week’s lesson is to ignore the naysayers — the people in you encounter in life that tell you that you can’t do it! You are the master of your own destiny. We created this inspirational artwork which you can print out and use as a reminder. We love the quote, don’t you? As always, our Dream Big Podcast downloads can be customized with your face and name, and it is 100% free to download. Click here to claim you free download.

If this coming week you ignore all the naysayers in your life, please let Olga know by emailing her at Olga@DreamBigPodcast.com. You will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Amazon Gift card and 1-month free membership in Post Pal Club. Winners are selected monthly and contacted by email (as well as announced on our show!).

TODAY’S GUEST

In today’s episode, Eva and Olga welcome John Lee Dumas, the founder and host of Entrepreneur On Fire (EOFire). John has interviewed more than 1,500 of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, including heavyweights such as Tony Robbins, Guy Kawasaki, Tim Ferriss, Jack Canfield and many more!

Eva and Olga talk to John about his journey from coming up with the concept for EOFire, moving forward with the launch, and ultimately growing the podcast to one of the most popular in all of iTunes.  John has inspired thousands of other podcasters to launch and succeed with their own shows, and he has been a huge inspiration to us personally to start the Dream Big Podcast.   It was an absolute honor to have him as our guest.

Since the recording of this episode, John has launched a Kickstarter for the Mastery Journal,  a step-by-step guide to mastering productivity, discipline & focus in 100 days.  This is a follow-up project to his very successful Freedom Journal Kickstarter last year which we used to plan the launch of the Dream Big Podcast.   We give both journals our highest recommendation!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • How John’s journey into the podcasting world started.
  • How John is still improving the art of interviewing after 4 years and 1,500 interviews on his podcast, EOFire.
  • Where he finds the motivation to get better at his craft.
  • What qualities a great interviewer must have, and how interviewing skills can be applied to your daily life.
  • Why he decided to create his first physical product, the Freedom Journal.
  • Why a lot of people fail to achieve their goals.
  • What a SMART goal is and how you can write your own and achieve it.

RESOURCES

In this episode, John shares how learning to be a good listener and asking good questions — the central skills of being an interviewer — can have a positive impact on your life. Since John is one of the most prolific interviewers in all of iTunes, we thought it would be appropriate this week to challenge you to practice your skills as an interviewer.   How fun would it be to conduct an interview?! Call up a friend or family member and arrange a 20-minute interview where you can learn all sorts of interesting things about them. To inspire you to complete this challenge, we even created this adorable download that you can customize with your face and name, and it is 100% free to download. Click here to claim you free download.
